Privacy Policy

MN Current (mncurrent.com), part of The Meridan Group news network, respects your privacy. This page explains what information is collected when you visit this site, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Analytics. We collect standard web analytics — pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, referring site, and device/browser type — to understand readership and improve the site. This may use Google Analytics.

Advertising. This site displays ads served by Google AdSense and, in some placements, other ad networks. These services may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can see and manage the ad data Google holds about you, or opt out of personalized ads, at Google Ad Settings.

Weather widget. The local weather shown in the site header is resolved from your IP address to an approximate location, used only to query the National Weather Service for current conditions. It is not stored or linked to any other data about you.

On-device preferences.Reading preferences (text size, font, theme, high contrast), saved and recently-viewed articles, and similar settings are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers, and clearing your browser data removes them.

We do not require an account to read this site, and we do not collect passwords, payment information, or government identifiers from visitors.

Cookies

Cookies on this site are used for analytics, advertising (described above), and basic site functionality. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect ad personalization but will not prevent you from reading the site.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience local news publication and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ad Settings or industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page. Most browsers also let you block third-party cookies entirely.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as our practices change. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
